Mrs. Toni Ryan
I was born and raised here in Carteret and a member of Carteret High School, Class of '94. I received my BA in Elementary Education K-8, and Teacher of the Handicapped K-12 from Monmouth University, Class of '98. I am a mom to two teenagers, Tyler and Emily, who, despite being older, still keep me on my toes. I started my career at CHS, briefly, from January-June of 1999, and began my elementary teaching career at Columbus School in September of 1999. I was at Columbus School until June of 2010, when I was transferred to Nathan Hale, and have been here ever since. I have taught every grade from Kindergarten to 5th, as a General Education Language Arts teacher, a self contained teacher, a Resource Room teacher, an In Class Support teacher, and an In Class Resource teacher. I am currently an In Class Resource teacher in 3rd Grade with my co-teacher, Mrs. Silva, and we have been a team for 4 years now. I am also involved in many different acivities here at Nathan Hale, and currently serve as the Lead Teacher for our school's Before and After Care program. Additionally, I am a manager at Burger Express right here in town, and I always look forward to seeing my students and their families picking up their food at the counter or at the drive thru window. It is so much fun to work with many of my former students (it also makes me feel a little old). In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and friends. I also like cooking, baking, watching reality TV, floating around in my pool, and listening to music. I really love to connect with my students OUTSIDE of the classroom, so you will find me at many of the events that are held here at Nathan Hale. My students are "my kids" for many hours out of the day, and I treat them as if they were my own. I will continue to help them in whatever way I can, and I will guide them every step of the way, while making them feel safe, loved, and taken care of. And we will have LOTS of fun along the way! :)
