Welcome to the Carteret Junior High School Nurse's Page.  My name is Ms. Connolly. I have been a Registered nurse for 36 years.  I received my Bachelors of Science Degree,with a Minor in Psychology, from The College of New Jersey. I began my career at St. Elizabeth Hospital (now Trinitas Hospital)in Elizabeth.  I worked on a Medical/Surgical Unit, in the Emergency Department and the Outpaitient Oncology Unit before becoming a Certified Gastrointestinal Clinician in 1987.  As a clinician, I was promoted to the position of Nurse Manager of the Endoscopy lab, Outpatient Procedure Department and Outpatient Oncology Unit. I was also appointed the Laser Safety Officer monitoring the credentialing and use of all the lasers in the hospital. I ended my tenure at Trinitas as the Performance Improvement Coordinator for the entire hospital in 2000.

As much as I loved my time in acute care, I decided to obtain my School Nurse certification from New Jersey City University in 2000 and began working for the Carteret Public School District in 2000.    I have worked in several schools in the district including Columbus School, Nathan Hale School and currently in Carteret Middle School.  I am a Nurse Coordinator for the Carteret School District.  In this position, I assist with the coordination of nursing activities and assist nurses in other builings in the district when needed. 

I am the Coach of the Carteret High School Varsity Girls Tennis Team, the time keeper for Carteret Middle School basketball and wrestling teams and an assistant to the athletic trainer when needed.

In 2019, I was honored to be chosen to serve as a member of the NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Association Medical Advisory Board .  This board sets the standard of care for all high school athletes in the state of NJ.
